I’m Carrie Alderfer, an artist with a focus on nature and humanity’s relationship to the natural world around us expressed through my use of color. I am fascinated by the natural world around us, from details and textures to the overall science behind it all. My goal is to connect people with a small piece of the environment and for them to feel it’s fragility and importance. Most recently I’ve been working in colored pencils, but I also love painting with acrylics and experimenting with mixed media. My art has been in various magazines and books, can be seen in  juried art exhibitions and regional art fairs, and resides in private collections around the United States.
