Homer Hickam (also known as Homer H. Hickam, Jr.) is probably best known for his # 1 New York Times best-selling memoir Rocket Boys, which was adapted into the ever-popular movie October Sky. He also has legions of fans for his “Josh Thurlow” historical fiction series, plus his many other books. Mr. Hickam, a Vietnam combat veteran, has also been a coal miner, scuba instructor, engineer, and an avid amateur paleontologist.

Mr. Hickams’s website was created with Wordpress and features a shop for his books including, photos from his life and the making of October Sky, and ways to connect with him.

The site for Huntsville Hospital’s Corporate Wellness and Occupational Health groups was a fun design challenge. They needed an overarching look for both groups with shared information on the home page and group-specific information. The solution was to create a site for each group that connects to a shared home page that directs users to the group that fits their needs. We used design elements, such as colors, to both unify and differentiate the two groups.

Decorative Concrete needed a site that would service two different audiences, residential clients and commercial clients. We built a home page that gives a general overview of Decorative Concrete’s services and products and then allows customers to choose the path that is best for their needs, Residential or Commercial. Each of the Residential and Commercial sites has its own main navigation and provides information and galleries to the user that is most appropriate to them. It is easy to switch back and forth between the two areas in case some needs both services or just wants a better overview of the scope of services Decorate Concrete offers.
